Anne Buehl, Consultant, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. Anne joined Rocaton in 2002 after serving as a Managing Director and Senior Consultant at Barra RogersCasey for 9 years. Anne earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics – Economics from Brown University.
Christopher Cesare, Consultant, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. Chris joined Rocaton in 2002 after 6 years at Barra RogersCasey, where he served as Managing Director and Senior Consultant. Chris previously worked as a plan sponsor at United Parcel Service in Atlanta for 7 years. Chris earned an M.B.A. from Emory University and a B.S. with a major in Finance from the University of Connecticut.
Patrick Chrysler, Managing Director, Fixed Income Research, focuses on investment manager research and due diligence of fixed income strategies. Patrick joined Rocaton in 2013 after serving in manager research roles at both ING Investment Management and Rogerscasey. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and Stamford CFA Society. Patrick earned a BSBA in Finance from Georgetown University and an MS in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Elizabeth DeLalla, Co-Head of Equity Research, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton.  Beth leads the U.S. equity research effort across all capitalizations and style spectrums. Beth joined Rocaton in 2002 after 15 years at Barra RogersCasey where she served as Director and Head of U.S. Equity. She was also responsible for overseeing the firm's investment manager database and manager evaluation platforms. Previously, Beth was an equity analyst with The Market Guide. Beth earned a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Roger Fenningdorf, Head of Manager Research, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. Roger is responsible for setting the firm’s manager research agenda and also spends a significant amount of his time researching hedge fund and U.S. equity strategies and managers. Roger joined Rocaton in 2002 after 8 years at Barra RogersCasey where he served as Managing Director, Head of Global Manager Research, and served as portfolio manager for two fund of funds strategies. Roger is a holder of the CFA designation and a member of the CFA Institute and the Stamford Society of Financial Analysts. Roger earned an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Yale University School of Management and a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University.
Lisa Florentine, Head of Fixed Income Research, is a Partner of Rocaton and leads the research effort for global fixed income strategies including stable value, municipals, broad market fixed income, LDI, and high yield. Lisa joined Rocaton in 2009 after 11 years at RogersCasey, where she served as Director of Fixed Income Research.  Prior to her role in fixed income research at RogersCasey, Lisa was part of a client relationship and consulting team. Prior to joining RogersCasey, Lisa was a securities lending analyst at UBS and also worked at Evaluation Associates.  Lisa earned a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University and an M.B.A. with distinction in Finance and Marketing from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Michael Fulvio, Managing Director, Consulting is a member of the consulting team where he works directly with institutional investors on a variety of issues, including asset allocation, investment structure design and investment manager selection and monitoring. Additionally, Michael assists in managing the firm’s analyst team and analyst training program. Michael joined Rocaton in 2007 as an Analyst in Rocaton’s consulting group after earning a B.S. in Finance from Providence College.
John Hartman, Managing Director, Business Development, is responsible for sales and marketing and collaborates with other senior team members to help formulate Rocaton's business strategy. Before joining Rocaton in 2011, John worked for Morgan Stanley Investment Management. His earlier experience includes a family office in California, Louis Dreyfus in Paris and Blenheim Investments. John spent 10 years with Security Pacific Bank (now Bank of America) responsible for FX and short-term interest rates in the Americas. He served on The Foreign Exchange Committee sponsored by the NY Federal Reserve Bank. John is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a BA in Social Science.
Carla Haugen, Head of Private Equity Research, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton and leads the research effort for limited partnerships and other non-traditional investments. Carla joined Rocaton in 2002 after 14 years with Barra RogersCasey where she served as Managing Director and Head of Private Equity and Alternative Investments. She has served on several Advisory and Valuation Boards for private equity partnerships and as a trustee and chair of the investment committee for a major non-profit institution. Carla earned an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and bachelors degrees in Math, Economics and Statistics from the University of Minnesota.
Diane Vallerie Improta, Managing Director, Consulting, joined Rocaton in 2014 to focus on a range of plan sponsors and plan types including corporate and not-for-profit, defined benefit and defined contribution. Diane is a member of the firm’s Defined Contribution Leadership Team assisting clients with the strategy, implementation, and execution of their investment programs. Diane has over 20 years of institutional investment consulting experience; most recently Diane was a Partner at Hewitt EnnisKnupp where she was the 403(b) Client Practice Leader and a member of the DC Leadership Team. Prior to that, she served as a consultant at both Segal Advisors and Evaluation Associates. Diane has a B.A. in Business Administration from Lynchburg College.
Janis Kane, Managing Director, Asset Allocation is a member of Rocaton’s capital markets/asset allocation group. Janis joined Rocaton in 2009 as a member of the asset allocation team. Janis leads asset allocation projects and asset liability studies for clients in addition to managing several research initiatives. Additionally, Janis works directly with institutional investors regarding Pension Risk Management issues, including liability driven investment (LDI) and other pension risk transfer (PRT) strategies. Prior to Rocaton, Janis spent 7 years with Mercer working as a Consulting Actuary. Janis is a holder of the CFA designation and a member of the CFA Institute, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. Janis earned a B.S. in Actuarial Science from the University of Calgary.
Alison Lonstein, Consultant, is a Partner of Rocaton. Alison works directly with institutional investors on a wide range of investment issues, including asset allocation, investment structure design and investment manager selection and monitoring. Alison joined Rocaton in 2003 after completing several internships, one of which was with Rocaton. Alison earned a B.S.in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Bryant University.
Christopher Lyon, Consultant and Head of Defined Contribution, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. In addition to serving as a senior consultant on a variety of client relationships, Chris leads Rocaton's defined contribution initiatives. Chris is currently a member of the Executive Committee and the Operating Committee of the Defined Contribution Investment Industry Association. Chris joined Rocaton in 2002 after six years at Barra RogersCasey where he served as Director, Investment Consulting and also led Barra RogersCasey's defined contribution research effort. Chris is a holder of the CFA designation and a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts. Chris earned an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from New York University's Stern School of Business and an A.B. in Economics from Muhlenberg College, where he graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Matt Maleri, Partner, Asset Allocation, is a member of Rocaton’s capital markets/asset allocation group and assists with investment manager research. In this role, Matt provides insight and perspective on the markets and is responsible for general asset class research. Additionally, Matt and the capital markets/asset allocation group are responsible for developing the firm’s forward looking capital market assumptions. Prior to joining Rocaton in 2008, Matt worked for Vista Financial Strategies. Matt earned an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
Elisa Metzger, Chief Compliance Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Operating Officer, manages compliance initiatives and oversees other aspects of Rocaton's business operations at Rocaton.  Elisa has been a practicing attorney for over 20 years and spent most of her time working on legal and compliance matters relating to investment companies, investment advisers and broker-dealers.  Most recently, she worked as an attorney at Credit Suisse Asset Management and as Director of Fund Governance at Deutsche Asset Management.   Prior to these positions, she was Of Counsel at Morrison & Foerster LLP.  Elisa also spent over 10 years in several roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.  She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University School of Law and a B.S. from Valparaiso University with a major in Mathematics.  Her bar memberships include Connecticut, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, New York and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Julie Moore, Co-Head of Equity Research, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton and leads the research effort for non-U.S. developed markets and emerging markets. Julie joined Rocaton in 2002 after 5 years at Barra RogersCasey where she served as Director and Head of International Equity Research and was previously part of a client relationship and consulting team. Julie has also served as a Portfolio Manager with Bankers Trust Company. Julie earned an M.B.A. at Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a B.S. in Business Administration at Skidmore College.
David Morton, Chief Market Strategist and Co-Head of Alternatives Research, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. David provides insight and perspective on the markets and collaborates with the asset allocation, manager research and consulting teams in developing investment themes for Rocaton’s clientele. David co-leads the research effort for credit-related strategies, real estate, and global liquid alternatives. David joined Rocaton after one year at Barra RogersCasey. Previously, David served as Director of Corporate Finance for Wrenchead, Inc.; Manager of Investments for Asarco, Inc. and a Portfolio Analyst at Alliance Capital. David earned an M.B.A. in Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business and holds a B.S. in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
Joe Nankof, Consultant, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. Joe also leads Rocaton’s capital markets/asset allocation research effort. Joe joined Rocaton in 2002 after 7 years at Barra RogersCasey where he served as Managing Director and Head of Investment Consulting. In addition to serving on the Management Committee at Barra RogersCasey, Joe also spent a number of years as part of the firm’s Capital Markets Research team, which supported client asset allocation and asset liability studies. Joe spent the prior 8 years with Towers Perrin as a Consulting Actuary. Joe is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Joe earned a B.S. in Economics and Applied Mathematics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
John Papadoulias, Partner, Alternative Investments, joined Rocaton in 2006. John is responsible for qualitative and quantitative analysis of private equity, real estate and other real asset-related investment organizations and strategies. John joined Rocaton as an Analyst in Rocaton’s Consulting Group after earning a B.A. in Economics from Williams College and has earned an M.B.A. from the NYU Stern School of Business.
Robin Pellish, Consultant, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton and serves as Chief Executive Officer. Robin joined Rocaton in 2002 after 13 years at Barra RogersCasey where she served as Senior Managing Director, responsible for strategic direction and management relating to all major aspects of the firm. Robin previously worked as a plan sponsor at Armtek Corporation and, in addition, worked in Corporate Treasury at both PepsiCo and General Motors. Robin earned an M.B.A. in Finance at the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics at Union College, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Jeri Savage, Partner, Defined Contribution Research, leads the firm’s DC-related research coverage, with responsibility for target date fund, retirement income, and other DC-specific strategy research coverage. She also researches DC trends, recordkeepers, managed account providers and contributes to DC clients’ investment structure discussions. Jeri has nearly 15 years of experience in research and analytical roles with investment and consulting firms. Jeri joined Rocaton from Evaluation Associates, where she spent several years as an Equity Research Associate and member of the firm’s Defined Contribution Task Force. Jeri earned an M.B.A. with distinction in Finance and Marketing from New York University’s Stern School of Business and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Business Economics from Brown University.
Adam Wheat, Consultant, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. Adam works directly with institutional investors including defined benefit and defined contribution plan sponsors on a wide range of investment issues.  Adam is also actively involved in determining strategic objectives and guiding the implementation of key technology initiatives at Rocaton.  Adam joined Rocaton after one year at Barra RogersCasey, where he served as an Analyst in the Investment Consulting Group.  Adam earned an A.B. in Economics from Muhlenberg College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Meriam Zandi, Consultant, is a founder and Partner of Rocaton. Meriam joined Rocaton in 2002 after 10 years at Barra RogersCasey, where she served as a Managing Director and Senior Consultant. Meriam previously worked as an Actuarial Analyst with Towers Perrin. Meriam earned an M.B.A. in Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.
